On Thursday I gave a talk about writing proposals for calls-to-artists at a foundations class at the University of Memphis. I had forgotten how messy art classrooms are.
Walking through the halls that I spent soooo many years in, I remembered how frustrating art school was - having some knowledge but not enough to fully articulate whatever I was trying to get across, while still figuring out what I was trying to get across.
But then I saw some students pulling raku pots out of a fire, and I remembered how much fun it was, too.
