Talk at U of M
On Thursday I gave a talk about writing proposals for calls-to-artists at a foundations class at the University of Memphis. I had forgotten how messy art classrooms are.
Walking through the halls that I spent soooo many years in, I remembered how frustrating art school was - having some knowledge but not enough to fully articulate whatever I was trying to get across, while still figuring out what I was trying to get across.
But then I saw some students pulling raku pots out of a fire, and I remembered how much fun it was, too.

Mock-Ups in Action
These are some of the mock-ups from the other day (right side, near the tree line). The paper ones are too silly to post.

River Arts Fest
River Arts Fest was this past weekend on South Main.
I went to it with Lynn Basa, who was visiting Memphis for the weekend to give an incredible workshop for artists about how to win public art commissions.
We stopped in to look at the historic Ernestine & Hazel's.
